Cheetahs

The Cheetah is the fastest land animal in the world. They can reach a top speed of around 113 km per hour. Cheetah are smaller than other members of the big cat family weighing only 45-60 kilograms. Cheetahs are the only big cat that can’t roar. Cheetahs can’t climb trees and have poor night eyesight.

Cheetah only have to drink once every three to four days.

Camp Diary The end

It was the last day of camp and it was the last time I will be waking up to a BANG! BANG! BANG! We all got up and started to pack all of our clothes into our suitcase some of us didn't get to pack because we had to go and set up for breakfast. Then we all got told to go back to our cabins and pack our clothes. After we had packed all the things into the bus we set off to the National Army Museum Te Mata Toa. When we got there to show respect we all had to take off our hats. When we walk in to the Museum we had to the classroom and had a talk. Then we went down to T.O.G (Tears Of Green Stone) after we had looked there we all got split up into 3 groups and we all went for a look around the Museum. After we had a look around the Museum we went back up to the classroom and had lunch. Then we had lunch it was time to go back home and and enjoy the weekend.

Camp Diary part 3

On Thursday the 23rd of October another day of getting waken up by the pots and pans. As soon as the pots and pans finished banging all the boys got up and started talking. All the boys came into my cabin because it was always warm. After we had breakfast we had to get our daypacks packed and meet in the Classroom. After we had checked that we all had the right gear we needed to all get on the bus. Then we were off to the Taranaki Falls walk. When we got there it said on the sign Taranaki Falls 3 Hr walk. We walked for about 40 minutes, then it said on a sign Old Lava Flow we had a bit of a break there. Then it was only 20 minutes untill Taranaki Falls, when we were only 2 minutes away from the falls there we heard loud crashing sounds I knew we were so close to the falls but we had to go down 100 and something stairs until we were there. When we got there we had a big rest all the groups got to go under the falls it was very loud. After we had a break we started to walk all the way back to the bus it was a 2 Hr walk untill we got back to the bus but it was nice and cool going thru the forest. When we got to the end of the path we all got a photo. Then we went back to the bus and had lunch we got ready to go up the mountain. I just couldn't wait to get up the mountain it started to get cold fast when we got there everyone started throwing snow balls at each other it was really fun after we played in the snow it was time to go back to camp and get into warm clothes. After we did that it was time to go to the the Turangi Thermal Pools.

My Camp Diary part 2

On Wednesday the 22st of October I was having a nice sleep untill BANG!!! BANG!!! BANG!!! I got woken up by the banging of the pot's and pan's. The first place we went to was Lake Motuopuhi and we learnt were the Maori stored their food. Then we went to the Turangi Trout Centre.A lady that worked there took a group of people for a tour around the Trout Centre. After the lady had taken us around the Trout Centre we got to catch a trout. I got the 3rd biggest Trout,the weight of my Trout was 762 grams. After we went to the Trout Centre we went to the Lake Rotopounamu. When we got half way around the lake we had a break then we walked and walked untill we got to another place to rest we had some afternoon tea. After we had walked all the way around the lake it was time to go back to camp.

My Camp Diary part 1

On Tuseday the 21st of October two Wanganui East School classes Room 15 and Room16 went on camp. The first stop we had was in Raetihi so we could have a little toilet and eating break. Then we got back on the road and started to head towards the Tongariro National Park visitor centre. When we got to the Tongariro National Park visitor centre we went inside and sat around a statue of a Maori Chief.                              

Then we got to have a look aroung the Tongariro National Park visitor centre. After that we all had to go into the Tongariro National Park Theatre and watch a video about the mountains it said that the biggest eruption in New Zealand was at Lake Taupo. When we had finished watching the video we got back into the bus and went to Mangatepopo camp site to set up camp. 

When we got there we were told what cabin room we were in and who we were sleeping with. After we had set up our cabin we had lunch. After we had lunch and a play around we went to the Te Porere Redoubt.

Then when we got back to the bus we had afternoon tea. After we had afternoon tea we went to the The Tokaanu Thermal Pools. Then we went back to the camp ground and had dinner and dessert.                                                              

My biggest fear

My biggest FEAR! is spiders with their long 8 hairy legs. But the thing I really hate the ones thing can poke up with their fangs that inject their poison into you. THE POISON! THE POISON! THE POISON! I can’t stop thinking about it the horrible poison. You can be injected with it first you will feel a sharp pain then it will start rushing through your body this is when you really need mediacell attention if you can you need to rush to the phone and ring 111 then ask for the paramedic then you need to be rushed to hospital and you need TREATMENT FAST!. If you don’t get treatment you will suffer a painful death. These are all my reasons why spiders are my biggest fear.

If I could live any where in the world I would live in Taupo. My magic power

If I was magic I would have a flying power so I can get to school faster. And I could go to places like town and Auckland. If I had money and forgot to get my lunch I could go down to the shop and get two pies. I would have big gold wings so when the sun shines on my wings it would look like there is a second sun. And they would be so big that there would be a big gust of wind blowing each time my wings flaped. When I’m finished using my wings they go into my back until I need to use them again.

The Witch and the Ghost part 4

It was the next day and the a van pulled up in front of the ladys house. The lady came out of her house. The Ghost and Witch hunter whos name was Kyle got out of the van. The man said were do they live the lady pointed at the house at the end of the street. Kyle said thank you he got a vacuum looking out of the van and stared to walk tothe house. Kyle got to the door of the house and opened the door and siting there was the Ghost and Witch. Kyle truned on the vacuum and pulled them up into the vacuum and they were nevery to be seen again.

The lady woke up the next day just thinking about the Witch and the ghost. She had an Idea she looked in a phone book she wanted to find a witch and ghost hunter. She found one she called it, nobody answered. Then she called again a man in a deep voice said "hi what do you want?" the lady said "I need you to come right now" the man said i'll be there right away. Two minutes after she finished on the phone a van pulled up. A man got out of the car the lady came out of her house and said "hello the Witches and ghosts house is down there" "ok" said the man. "I'll come back tomorrow it is to late to do it now". .....To be continued.

My holaday

In my holiday I went to the movies. I went to the movies with my aunty and my cousin. I like going to the movies because when I walk in I can smell the popcorn. When I went and got my ticket I wanted to get a kids pack but I didn't have enough money to buy it so my aunty had to use some of her money. The movie that we watched was "The house of magic". The movie went for 1 hour and 35 minutes. I really liked my holaday.

The Witch and the Ghost part 2

One day a stranger went to give some baking to the Witch and Ghost because she just moved in to the neighbourhood but not knowing there was a Witch and a Ghost there. She knocked on the door nobody answered she went and looked in one of the windows but she couldn't see through. She went to the front door to see if it was open and it opened she look in and right there was a Witch and a Ghost she through her baking in the air and ran home. She lade in her bed just thinking about what she just saw. Then she went to sleep after sending 3 hours thinking about the Witch and the Ghost. ... To be continued.

The Witch and the Ghost part 1

Once upon a time there was a witch and a ghost. They lived in a very old house at the end of the street. The house was so old the ghost had to use his powers to keep the house together. Every day they would scare people to death. Every week new people would move but nobody knew what was going on when people would disappear. Nobody knew what was going on because the house look really fancy on the out side because the ghost used his powers to make it look fancy. ..... to be contented.

My Mum

I love my mum because she is loving and kind.My mum will help me when I am hurt. I love my mum because she gives up her time to take me and my sister to town. These are the reasons why I love my mum.

I like going to the movies

When I go to the movies I like walking in because it is cold outside. I feel real excited because I like watching movies on the big screen and eating popcorn. When I walk into the movies I hear lots of people talking about what movie they are going to watch. When I walk into the movies I can smell the popcorn and the butter. When I walk into the movies I can see all the lollies.When I go to the movies I always get some popcorn and a drink. That's why I like going to the movies.

My holidays

In my holidays my cousin my aunty my Nan and I . We went to drop off my Nan in Flaxmere because she had a tang i. We went to my cousins other Nan's house to drop off my Nan. My Nan and my cousins Nan went to get something to eat they went to get fish and chips. We had something to eat and then we said goodbye. Then we had to go it was a long trip to get home. I had to stay up to tell my aunty were to go. But in the end we got home. When we got home the time was 12:30 when we all went to bed.

Museum Trip

On Wednesday room 15,16,5 and 6 went to the museum for a trip. We hap to go into the museum and put our bag into a brown box. When we did that we had to go into the theater room to look at a lot of old photos. Then we had to get into our groups I was in Miss Gailey's group. After we got into our groups we got a booklet. After we got a booklet we had to go and walk around Wanganui to the places we saw in the photos at the museum. We had to walk from the museum to the War Memorial Hall. Then we had to go to Drew's Avenue and had to look at the old Drew's Museum that is now called the Savage Club Hall. After that we had to walk down to Rutland Street and look at the old Wanganui Chronicle building. Then we had to got to Moutoa Gardens, it used to be called Market Square, it is next to the Court House. Back in the olden days there were no houses on Durie Hill. After that we had to walk down to the wharf and we had to count the boats at the wharf, I saw two boats. Back in the olden days the town bridge only had one arch and now it has two. Did you know Victoria Avenue was named after Queen Victoria? Did you know the Watt Fountain is named after Mayor William Watt who gave Westmere Lake to the city for a town water supply? The fountain had two levels one for the people to drink and the other one was for the horses and dogs. Did you know the clock-tower was taken off the old city post office after the Napier earthquake in 1931? The water fountain was moved to make way for the trams, and put back again in 1993. Maria Place is named after Maria King and runs from Majestic Square to Cook's Gardens. After we walk around Wanganui we had to go back to the Museum get our bags and go back to school.

On my weekend

On the weekend all I did was sleep and watch tv. I had a really boring weekend. I had my uncle come from Napier for the fishing competition. He caught one fish and got a spot prize. but it was an umbrella so he gave it to my mum. My uncle told us it was windy and it rained. He said the people who were fishing had to pack up and leave at 12 o,clock because the tide came in to close. Then he went home.

If I Was A Billionaire

If I was a billionaire I would move to America and buy a mansion with all my family. I would have a spa pool and a pool. I would have a maid and a butler. I will go and buy     a helicopter. Then I would get a plane ticket and go to Australia, then stay there for two weeks then go back home. Then I would go to Disneyland. After that I would get a big T.V. I will go sky diving and go bungy jumping. And live there forever.

Swimming Sports

On Wednesday Wanganui  East School held their swimming sports. It was a long hot day I got bored beacause they had to do the widths first. The lengths where last. Mrs Barry started all the races with a buzzer thing. If you came 1st 2nd or 3rd you would get a rod, they all had a color, 1st was the color orange 2nd was blue and 3rd was brown. When you got a rod you had to go to Mrs Lawson and get points for your house. After the widths they had to put the lane ropes in. It was funny because some people fell into the pool. Today we had to finish the  swimming sports because we didn't have enough time on Wednesday. But today we only did the rock drop and the freestyle relay.

My Favourite Sport

My favorite sport is netball because I like to defend. I like defending because I can catch the ball and pass the ball to one of the players on my team. Netball is really fun but it is very tiring and gets you really fit. I have played netball for three years. Every Thursday we have netball practice for about one hour but my sisters netball practice goes for one hour and a half. Through all the years I have played netball I have always been in the C team. This year I hope to be in a different team. This is why I like netball.

In My Weekend

In the weekend my family and I had my baby cousin's birthday. We had my cousin's birthday at my Nan's house. We had too much food so we had to take some home. The cake was cool because it was Cookie Monster. It even had little cupcakes around the cake. When my cousin's cake got served his cake he destroyed it, cake was all over the place. We got some photos when he had cake all over his face, he looked really cute and funny. I did not get to have some cake because I had to mach to eat. I really enjoyed the birthday.
